Voter Turnout Plan
Over the past 150 years, the United States has moved from newspapers and yellow journalism to social media and fake news. Within this time continuum, we find the media attempting to focus voters’ attention on specific issues, swaying public opinion, and influencing politics.
From a present-day perspective, imagine that you are the owner of a large multimedia group and want to increase voter turnout for the upcoming presidential election. Develop a Voter Turnout Plan to accomplish this goal, using the various media sources at your disposal. Your submission must include the criteria below.
· Include a title page with your name, course name and number, instructor’s name, and title of the paper,
· Include an introduction with a brief overview of your plan and your target voter turnout percentage.
· Plan information, including the following:
. Describe the two stages of elections and your plan for both stages.
. Describe the presidential election process and how your plan will fit into it.
. Identify how you will overcome/address the factors that motivate and hinder voting in the United States.
· Describe the ways that the public opinion polls can influence voting behavior and describe how you will impact public opinion.
. What polls will you use? How do you anticipate they will increase voter turnout? How will you use them in your plan?
. Which media types will you utilize and how will you use them? (e.g., newspapers, news journals, magazines, broadcast media (television and radio), digital and social media
. How will you impact politics and voters at the local level?
· Define fake news and how it can impact your plan.
· Provide a conclusion.
· Include a references page with a list of all sources used.
Your completed plan must be at least two pages in length, not counting the title page and references page. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.
