EDU 120 Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Examine learning theories and their relationship to learning and instruction: 5.0, The course and text provided theories and use cases that were very relevant to the subject. Personally, I would rate myself at 4.5 as there are new ideas all the time and am certain there is always more to learn or ways in which an abstract concept can be applied in new and creative ways to a particular use case.

2. Examine instructional design models and strategies: 5.0, same comments as above.

3. Identify instructional design principles, terminology and careers: 4.0, Honestly this felt a bit out of place with the rest of the course material. In a course titled “Instructional Design Principles”, not sure how careers fit in there, it is a related but different topic. 5.0, regarding principles and terminology.

4. Develop instructional goals and measurable learning objectives: 4.0, The basis of a great practical application of the course subjects is inclusive of the course. It just needs a bit of refinement. Instead of specific industries, it would be nice if those are suggestions and allow the learner to decide the industry in which they will focus their project assignments around. I thought the weekly assignments were extremely effective in applying the knowledge from our reading requirements. Overall, it is a very practical and effective approach to apply knowledge and how the ADDIE process is layered and where one step evolves into the next step in the process. Kudos to Instructor Buss in helping us with the other courseware issues (Journal entries) and providing supplemental instruction for information that should be incorporated into the module instructions and/or course syllabus.

I found the course highly satisfying in the material, instructor and subject matter. The weekly assignments are highly effective but also challenging in regard to time required to develop out the material for the assignment. Think it would be beneficial for most learners (especially those who have never been introduced to these concepts) to have more time available toward the assignment and less focus on Discussions, Journal entries or reduce to responses required inside of them, might result in greater
